Discovery Kids Summer Camps at The Discovery Center
For over 20 years, The Discovery Center has provided a one-of-a-kind summer camp experience that is safe, fun, and educational. Licensed by the New York State Office of Children and Family Services, our programs are designed to help children build lasting friendships while learning to be the best they can be through creativity and active play.
2026 Camp Details
- Dates: June 29 – August 21, 2026 (Monday–Friday) (Note: No camp on July 17)
- Hours: 8AM – 3PM
- Age Groups: Pre-K (Ages 3-4), Ages 5-6, Ages 7-8, and Ages 9-10
- Structure: Enrollment is for the full 8-week session to meet consistent childcare needs.
2026 Rates & Registration
- Ages 5-10: $1,650 (8-week session)
- Pre-K (Ages 3-4): $1,768 (8-week session)
- Extended Care: After-camp care (3-6PM) available for $400 (limited availability).
- Registration Fee: Included! Covers classroom supplies, special events, and field trips.
2026 Weekly Themes
Adventure and curiosity take center stage! Campers will journey from the prehistoric world of Dino Detectives to the far reaches of a Galaxy of Stories. From the Adirondack Experience to Flavor Town and Invention Convention, every child explores science, art, and community-building.
Membership Requirement
All campers must hold an active Discovery Center Family Membership through August 2026 to enroll. Please renew prior to registration if your membership expires before September.
A Typical Day at Camp
Each week features activities in our hands-on museum, the award-winning Story Garden, and the woods of Ross Park.
