Written by Gian Carlo Menotti, this beloved story is a retelling of the journey of the Three Kings (the Magi) as they follow the star to Bethlehem. The story is told through the eyes of Amahl, a young disabled boy with a vibrant imagination, and his struggling mother.
When the three regal travelers arrive at their humble home seeking shelter, Amahl and his mother’s lives are completely transformed. Children will love the colorful and distinct personalities of the Kings, while audiences of all ages will be touched by the story of courage, generosity, and the true meaning of giving. The story culminates in a shining display of Amahl’s bravery and character, proving that miracles are possible when we selflessly offer our best gifts.
