Get ready for an evening of FREE family fun, music, stories, and creativity with the Binghamton Philharmonic! We all know that Beethoven is a musical legend, but have you ever wondered why he's considered one of the greatest composers to ever live? Now's your chance to find out!

Beethoven the Hero: The Family Symphony Session

The Binghamton Philharmonic is inviting your family to a special, hands-on, and totally engaging Family Symphony Session!

Join Dr. Julia Grella O'Connell, the Philharmonic's Director of Education and Community Engagement, as she brings the legendary composer and his time to life. These sessions are the Philharmonic's unique music-learning programs for children and their families, offering a truly relaxed and fun way to learn about classical music.

This particular program will feature:

  • Inspiring Stories about Beethoven's life!
  • A free, family-friendly talk connecting music to games, history, and children's literacy.
  • A Folk Song, Dance, or Rhythm Play to learn together!
  • A Take-Home Craft inspired by the composer!

And for the grand finale: Participants can then go into the concert hall to hear the Binghamton Philharmonic rehearse for their upcoming concert!

    • Time: 6:30 PM (The session runs until approximately 8:30 PM)
  • Where: Broome County Forum Theatre, Binghamton
  • Cost: FREE for children aged 4-16 and their accompanying caregivers!
