If your kids love big trucks, loud horns, and all things that go, you can't miss the upcoming Touch-a-Truck event at the Broome County Fairgrounds in Whitney Point! As a family who has been to many of these events, we can tell you from experience that this is one of the biggest and best around.
This incredible event is a family-friendly adventure where kids of all ages can get up close and personal with the big rigs they see every day. It's a hands-on experience that lets you explore, climb on, and discover a wide variety of vehicles, from police cars and ambulances to massive dump trucks and bulldozers.
What to Expect:
- Hands-On Fun: Sit in the driver's seat of a fire truck, honk the horn of a massive construction vehicle, and learn from the people who operate these heavy duty machines.
- Exciting Participants: The event features over 30 participants, including local police and fire departments, construction companies, farms, and more. A special highlight is the LifeNet helicopter, scheduled to land around 10:30-11am (weather permitting).
- Extra Entertainment: The fun doesn't stop with the trucks! Kids can also enjoy bounce houses, get their face painted, and grab a sweet treat from The Scoop Ice Cream Truck. Also, keep your eye out for the Whitney Point Eagle Mascot and our friends Rowdy and Ruby, the Rumble Ponies!
- Event Details:
- Date: Saturday, September 20, 2025
- Time: 10am - 2pm
- Location: Broome County Fairgrounds, Whitney Point, NY
- Admission: $10 per car (cash only)
This event is not just a day of fun—it's also the primary fundraiser for the Whitney Point Alumni Organization, supporting its scholarship program and annual alumni dinner. Thanks to the community's support, two scholarships were awarded to graduating seniors last year! Your attendance helps make a direct impact on local students.
