The Discovery Center of the Southern Tier just celebrated the grand opening of “Dinosaur Dental,” a brand-new, interactive exhibit that transforms the sometimes-intimidating world of dental care into a fun and engaging learning experience for children. This unique space invites young visitors to step into the roles of dentists and hygienists, sparking imaginative play and providing valuable educational insights into oral health.
This isn't your average museum exhibit. "Dinosaur Dental" cleverly transforms the world of teeth and dental care into a seriously engaging and imaginative experience for kids. My kiddo was drawn in by the friendly stuffed dinosaurs and instantly captivated by the chance to pretend to be a dentist in training.
From donning pint-sized scrubs and exploring a realistic appointment desk to getting hands-on with a giant mouth model to learn proper brushing and flossing techniques, every corner of this exhibit sparks creativity and learning. There's even an interactive waiting area with a "Search and Find" wall to keep kids entertained while "waiting" to be the next patient.

Access to the exhibit is included with admission which is $10 per person and free for members and children under 1. Discounts are available for EBT card holders, seniors, and veterans. There is also a monthly FREE admission night on the first Friday of each month from 4-7pm. Museum hours are Monday-Friday: 10am-3pm; Saturday: 10am-5pm; Sunday: 12-5pm.
